Driven by a vision of cultural sustainability and social equity, Awamaki is committed to supporting and promoting Andean artisans through actions focused on fair trade, women's empowerment and the development of sustainable tourism.
- Promoting cultural sustainability: Highlighting a community approach where culture develops by being rooted in local realities.
- Adopt the principles of fair trade: Produce artisanal items in small series with particular care, thus guaranteeing respectful and fair practices.
- Supporting Andean Crafts: Work closely with local artisans to encourage the creation and growth of cooperatives, particularly those led by women in the textile sector.
- Strengthening women's financial independence: Placing women's economic empowerment at the heart of the actions carried out.
- Co-create sustainable tourism opportunities: Develop tourism projects that respect and value artisans, their families and their communities, based on mutual respect and reciprocity.

Marketing et communication
Gather and tell Awamaki's stories, both in writing and visually. Use and enhance your skills in social media, graphic design, creative writing, website design, photography, and videography. Connect with staff, artisans, and community members to gather stories about Awamaki's work and the women we serve. Write articles for social media, the blog, the newsletter, and donor reports. Photograph Awamaki's work and products. Shoot and create videos to tell our stories. Offer link
Tourism
Educate international travelers about sustainable tourism and work with our partner artisans by leading tours, weaving classes, cooking classes, etc. Accompany visitors to indigenous communities on day and overnight tours and during cooking classes. Assist with reservations and emails. Participate in special projects such as creating evaluation systems, improving marketing materials, enhancing tours, etc. Offer link
Design
Assist our designer, production team, and partner cooperatives in developing and creating products that showcase Andean textile traditions in contemporary handmade accessories. Use and enhance your skills in styling, knitwear design, patternmaking, textile production, and merchandising. Work with cooperative members to develop and sample product designs for our Peru store and wholesale lines. Support the production team by managing quality control and sourcing supplies in Peru. Sales
Assist our sales team in developing local and international sales of handicrafts. Utilize and enhance your skills in sales, retail, merchandising, visual merchandising, and marketing. Analyze sales information and improve sales strategies in our retail and online store, and assist in managing the Fair Trade store in Peru, including improving displays and merchandise assortment. Impact
Help the Awamaki team better understand the social impact of our work. Monitor the organization's activities and evaluate collected data to analyze impact and expected outcomes. Use and improve your skills in Spanish, economics, statistics, data management, qualitative data analysis, and GPS. Participate in surveys, focus groups, interviews, and data recording with members of women's business cooperatives. Analyze collected data. Help plan, attend, and document capacity-building workshops for women's artisan cooperatives. Prepare data to be used for Awamaki grant reports. This position requires a very high level of autonomy.
